Three write-ups, chosen because each one ran into a different kind of difficulty. None of them went entirely to plan, and the interesting part of a project is usually what happened when it did not.
Riverside Medical Center
A 340-bed hospital in Coalport with four decades of additions and no consistent naming. Full interior wayfinding plus exterior identification, delivered in three phases around live clinical operations.
Marren City Schools
Eleven buildings, roughly 2,400 interior signs and eleven monuments, all installed inside a single summer break. A scheduling problem more than a fabrication one.
Lakeshore Retail District
Twenty-six storefronts against one set of design criteria, with tenants opening on staggered dates and a design review board that met monthly.
Sectors we work in
Healthcare. Hospitals, outpatient centres and medical office buildings. The distinguishing constraints are infection control during installation, work that has to happen without closing a corridor, and naming that has to serve patients rather than departments.
Education. Districts, independent schools and community colleges. Almost all installation happens in the summer window, which makes scheduling the binding constraint and makes late permit approval genuinely dangerous to a programme.
Retail and mixed use. Centres, districts and individual tenants. Work is governed by landlord design criteria and driven by fixed opening dates that do not move because a submittal was rejected.
Municipal and civic. City buildings, parks, recreation facilities and libraries. Public procurement, formal bidding, and a durability expectation measured in decades rather than years.
Industrial. Manufacturing and distribution. Mostly identification, safety and traffic signage, where legibility and compliance matter and aesthetics rarely do.
